About
Chris Adkins is a musician and songwriter based in the great music city of New Orleans. Perhaps best known as the guitarist for legendary bassist and Grammy Award winner George Porter Jr.‘s band, Chris has worked with Raphael Saadiq, Maria Muldaur, Marc Bourssard, Zachary Richard, Roland Guerin, Irma Thomas and many more. His work can be heard on Maria Muldaur’s 2018 Grammy nominated tribute to Blue Lu Barker album and many others. Adkins has performed in venues and festivals around the world including at the Tahiti Jazz & Soul Festival, JazzAscona in Switzerland, Panic En La Playa in Mexico, Ingolstadt Jazz Festival in Germany, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Jam Cruise & venues in 48 U.S. states and as far away as in Wakayama, Japan. He is an adjunct professor of guitar at the University of New Orleans.
