About Chris Adkins
Chris Adkins is a New Orleans based freelance musician. Originally from St. Augustine, Florida, he’s performed live on tour or in New Orleans with Maria Muldaur, Roland Guerin, George Porter Jr., Marc Broussard, John Papa Gros, Erica Falls, Susan Cowsill and Kristin Diable as well as logging commercial recording session work with Irma Thomas and Jon Cleary and backing band hired sideman gigs for Dr. John, John Boutte and other New Orleans staple musicians.
Chris has performed and recorded with many other artists as a guitarist, songwriter and mandolin player and recently recorded all the guitars and mandolin at his home studio for film composer Mike Esneault's Emmy winning score for the Louisiana PBS documentary, “Deeply Rooted.” Adkins' guitar has taken him to Europe, Japan, Mexico, Canada and just about every state of the U.S. At home Chris can be found at the University of New Orleans where he is an adjunct professor of guitar.
